Badal Family Must Ensure Justice in Moga Girl Molestation Case

Dead body of young girl who was thrown off a running vehicle after molestation
Nothing bothers me more than the so-called humanity because humanity relates to humans and I haven't seen any animal more cruel and selfish than humans, which are also animals, albeit social. Human acts often disturb, and the most recent human act that not only disturbed me but also shook me to the core of my heart, took place in Moga district of Punjab, India.

A teenager boarded a bus with her mother and brother from Moga at 4pm last Wednesday. When only a few passengers were left in the bus, the conductor and one of his accomplices started making indecent gestures and lewd comments on the 13-year-old girl. When her nearly 35-year-old mother intervened, the culprits did the same to her.  The woman complained the matter to the bus’ driver, who sided with the suspects.

When the mother resisted, the culprits shoved the girl and her mother off the running bus. The young girl died at the scene, while the mother is still struggling for life in a hospital. The above photo shows the dead body of a young girl who was thrown off a running vehicle after she refused to be molested. I received this photo through social-media network Whatsapp, but i couldn't confrim if the girl in the photos is the same Moga girl. Nevertheless, it is enough to suggest what the hell girls are suffering in today's society.

The bus involved in the brutal incident belongs to Orbit Bus Company, which is owned by the state’s ruling family – the Badal Family.  The head of the family, Parkash Singh Badal is the chief minister (CM) of Punjab, while his son, Sukhbir Singh Badal, is the deputy chief minister of the state. Sukhbir Singh Badal’s wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal is the Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing in Narendra Modi-led Government of India. Her brother, Bikram Singh Majithia, also holds revenue and rehabilitation ministry in Parkash Singh Badal-led Punjab government. Thus, it was but natural for the incident to take a political hue.

As the bus and suspects have relations with the ruling Badal family, many common people believe that the suspects will be able to go free without paying for their brutal act, and that the poor family of the victim will not get justice. As the incident has direct links to the ruling Badal family, ensuring impartiality and justice in the case is not essential for the victim’s family but also for the ruling Badal family, if the Badals really want to regain public’s trust that they have lost in wake of the incident.
