PM Modi Will No Longer Be Able To Boast About Providing Scandal-Free Government

Three BJP leaders facing corruption charges
Congress is busy in celebrating the first series of scandals by high profile political leaders of the ruling BJP, viz. Susma Swaraj, Vasundhra Raje, Smriti Irani and Pankja Munde. It is but natural for an opposition party to celebrate or make an attempt to take an advantage of such a situation.

But it is definitely a big, disturbing jolt for Indian voters who voted enthusiastically to bring Narendra Modi to power. They invested their trust in Mr. Modi and BJP because Mr. Modi had ensured them that the BJP government under his leadership would be different – free from scam and scandals, and there that would be no corrupt leaders in his government.

Now, when the time has come to transform his words into action, Prime Minister Modi is tight-lipped. He is silent, when the whole country is eagerly waiting to listen to his ‘maan ki baat’ – his views about the Lalit Modi scandal and the alleged involvement of Susma Swaraj and Vasundhra Raje in the scandal. Let me remind Mr. Modi that he will no longer be able to boast about his promise to provide a corruption-free and scandal-free government, if he doesn’t take action now.
