Birds Of A Feather Flock Together: Salman Supports Yakub

Salman Khan should also be in jailBollywood star Salman Khan recently stirred a hornet’s nest by posting a very controversial tweet about Yakub Memon, the convicted militant who is going to be hanged till death on July 30, 2015, for his role in the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai – India’s financial capital.

Last Sunday, Salman Khan tried to defend Yakub Memon by tweeting that his brother Tiger should be hanged instead. He added that Yakub is being hanged for Tiger. He argued that Tiger should be brought to India and hanged, and that it is not right to hang Yakub in place of Tiger.

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star even called Yakub Memon an innocent person by tweeting, “One innocent man killed is killing the humanity”.

Salman’s comments shocked the whole of India, including many of his fans. But the comments failed to shock or disturb me as I know birds of a feather flock together.

How a convicted person can peacefully stand for a tough punishment for another convicted person. Let me say that whenever justice shows its potency to a single criminal, it effectively sends a shiver down the spine of all other criminals.

It doesn’t seems nice for a person like Salman Khan, who has been found guilty of road rage that claimed life of an innocent man and left many more injured, to talk about innocence and humanity.
