A Quick Look At French Tourist Katia's Abuduction And Rape Case

Former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh’s grandson Harkirat Singh died of a gunshot wound on Sunday, May 29. Police said that while the incident was still under investigation, preliminary investigations indicated that Harkirat Singh committed suicide by shooting himself. However, the victim’s wife argued that it was an “accidental fire,” which happened when her husband was cleaning his pistol.

While high profile leaders are busy in expressing grief over the suicide of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh’s grandson, my conscience immediately dragged me back to the 1994, when the 'Sher-e-Punjab' earned another title -- 'Dhritrashtra' for not paying heed to the misdeeds of his own kin.
When high profile leaders like Prakash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithiya, state congress chairman Captain Amrinder Singh and others have expressed their profound grief over the shooting death of Harkirat Singh; let me remind our so-called leaders as well as the common man, who has become habitual to forget brutalities inflicted by the kin of politically-powerful and corruptly-influential people on the society.

One of the grandsons of Beant Singh was found involved in the abduction/kidnapping and rape/molestation of a French tourist named Katia. The alleged heinous crime was committed in Mohali near Chandigarh on the night of August 31, 1994.

The then 24-year-old French woman Katia told police that she was out in a hotel along with two Kenyan friends, who were students at a Chandigarh college, when a youth accompanied by 4 others approached them and offered drinks, but they refused.
Offended by Katia’s rejection, the youth some gunmen chased them in an official Gypsy right up to the students’ residence in Mohali. On the pretext of searching the house for drugs, they beat them up and abducted Katia at gun point.

Katia was taken to a factory building in Mohali, where she was raped. In the morning, the cuprits brought her to a hotel from where she managed to escape.

She reported the matter to police. Following investigations by journalists pointed the needle of suspicion towards Beant Singh’s grandson, Gurkirat Singh. Katia also identified him in a photograph.
The heinous crime boxed Beant Singh and his Congress government by a united Opposition, which demanded nothing less than a CBI investigation, booking of his guilty grandson and the chief minister's resignation.

But, the police continued to dilly-dally, and failed to produce Gurkirat Singh before Katia for identification. Before leaving Chandigarh in disgust on Sept. 6th, Katia said, “No serious effort has been made to book the real culprits. For me, it was a horrifying experience.”

Finally, with pressure mounting from the Union Home Ministry, the chief minister was left with no option but to make his grandson to turn himself in.

Beant Singh and the then state police chief K.P.S. Gill gave assurances that the culprits would be punished. Investigations conclusively established the involvement Gurkirat Singh in the rape case. Finally, Gurkirat Sing surrendered to police on Sept. 8th.

As if the crimes of Gurkirat Singh weren’t enough to blot the Sher-e-Punjab’s regime, his second grandson, named Amandeep Singh, become embroiled in a separate sexual harassment scandal. Such incidents are not rare, Moga girl molestation case in another cruel example of inhumanity.
While we can’t change the past, let me say we can surely prevent such incidents in the future by giving law a free hand to deal with offenders and culprits with an iron hand. A common man wants nothing more than a peaceful life with dignity.

Murthal (Haryana) Gang Rapes Of Women During Jat Stir Shocked Whole World

A depressed victim's imaginary photo

The Indian state of Haryana is already notorious for girl foeticide (destruction or abortion of a female/girl fetus). Now, the Haryana will be known as a rapist state, thanks to the recent tremendously outrageous and shocking gang rapes of more than 10 women in Murthal during Jat reservation stir.

While Haryana police repeatedly denied any occurrence of gang rapes in Murthal, several people, including at least three truck drivers, told media persons that they had witnessed a mob of protestors dragging women into fields. They said the protestors torn women’s clothes in front of them and some women were running nude on the highway to avoid being sexually assaulted. At least one of them said some protestors were yelling that they would gang rape the women and they raped then in deed.
Many new channels showed pieces of torn clothes of women.

Following the media reports of gang rapes of several women and the resultant severe criticism, Haryana police has filed an FIR in which a woman from Delhi has alleged that seven men raped her on the night of February 22-23.

The woman alleged that the rapists included her own brother-in-law. However, she added that her 15-year-old daughter, who was with her at the time, was not sexually assaulted. But, the hooligans had torn her daughter’s clothes too.

Shame on Haryana for tolerating such a heinous crime!

Let me say it is now the responsibility of the state government to punish the rapists without being influenced by any kind of political or financial and take all necessary measures to prevent such a shocking incident from occurring again in the future.

I would also like to ask her – why the khap panchayats and their leaders, who boast to be the savior of the society, are silent now. They should come forward and condemn the sexual attacks on the fair sex.

God Appears to be Opposing the humble And Giving Grace To The Proud

Salman Khan outside a courtGod opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. But the adjacent picture appears to be stating the opposite - God opposes the humble, but gives grace to the proud.

Salman Khan is a popular Bollywood star, but it is also a well known truth that he is a convicted man. Look at the adjacent picture. Salman Khan appears to be very confident, bearing an air of pride.  Police officers are defending him, while other people are curious to meet him. He has money so he can commit a crime, like hit and run or illegally hunt an animal, and easily defy a punishment with the help of people like the one seen in the picture in black coat – lawyers.

Birds Of A Feather Flock Together: Salman Supports Yakub

Salman Khan should also be in jailBollywood star Salman Khan recently stirred a hornet’s nest by posting a very controversial tweet about Yakub Memon, the convicted militant who is going to be hanged till death on July 30, 2015, for his role in the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai – India’s financial capital.

Last Sunday, Salman Khan tried to defend Yakub Memon by tweeting that his brother Tiger should be hanged instead. He added that Yakub is being hanged for Tiger. He argued that Tiger should be brought to India and hanged, and that it is not right to hang Yakub in place of Tiger.

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star even called Yakub Memon an innocent person by tweeting, “One innocent man killed is killing the humanity”.

Salman’s comments shocked the whole of India, including many of his fans. But the comments failed to shock or disturb me as I know birds of a feather flock together.

How a convicted person can peacefully stand for a tough punishment for another convicted person. Let me say that whenever justice shows its potency to a single criminal, it effectively sends a shiver down the spine of all other criminals.

It doesn’t seems nice for a person like Salman Khan, who has been found guilty of road rage that claimed life of an innocent man and left many more injured, to talk about innocence and humanity.

Why Yakub Memon should be hanged/put to death?

Symbol of justiceWhile the whole of India, particularly families and friends of the victims of 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, are eagerly waiting for July 30, 2015, the date slated to hang Yakub  Memon. Some individuals and groups are busy in making their last attempt to prevent Memon's hanging.

But, there are some really vital reasons why Yakub Memon should be hanged till death. Let's have a quick look at some of them:

Yakub Memon, who is also called Yakub Abdul RazzakMemon, has been sentenced to death for his role in the series of March 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, which caused more than 350 deaths and left nearly 1200 people injured. he must get 'reward' for his henious crimes.

If Memon is sparedIf Memon is spared by turning his death sentence into life imprisonment, it would send another signal that India is very lenient toward militants and other criminals.

If Memon is not hanged, it would definitely be an insulting jolt to the families and friends of the victims of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.

If Memon is not hanged, it would be wastage of crores of rupees that the government spent in investigating the case and bringing the guilty to justice.

It would encourage more crime as criminals would have not fear of losing their lives.

It would break common man's trust in Indian constitution and law.

The last but not the least, it would tarnish the ruling BJP government’s image as the BJP leaders have long been boasting that they would never tolerate anti-national elements.

Who Is Mumbai Hospital Nurse Aruna Shanbaug's rapist?

The death of Mumbai hospital nurse and rape-victim Aruna Shanbaug has not only created sympathy for the victim all around the globe but also curiosity among people about the guilty, the rapist – Sohanlal Bhartha Valmiki.

Common man wants to know what sentence Sohanlal Bhartha Valmiki was given for the heinous crime of rape and strangulation that left the nurse mentally as well as physically paralyzed until her death last Monday.

Sohanlal Bhartha Valmiki was a ward attendant at Mumbai’s King Edward Memorial Hospital, where Aruna Shanbaug served as a nurse. He was around 28 years old at the time of crime, which took place on November 27, 1973. Thus, he must be nearly 70 years old now.

As you know about Indian law enforcement as well as constitution are quite liberal and modest towards the guilty, Sohanlal Bhartha Valmiki was surprisingly not charged with rape. The heartless criminal was, instead, charged with attempt to murder and was eventually convicted for period of just 7 years.

By the time the trial in the case began, Sohanlal Bhartha Valmiki has already spent one year in jail. So after his conviction, he spent just 6 years behind the bars.

See the irony, the victim spent a whopping 42 years in misery; one the other hand the guilty was set free just after 7 years.

There is currently no information about the whereabouts of Sohanlal Bhartha Valmiki. No body knows if he is dead or alive, thanks to out efficient law enforcement system that does care about keeping track record of criminals.

The recent death of rape-victim Aruna Shanbaug has once again revealed the dark side of humanity. Aruna Shanbaug, a Mumbai hospital nurse who was sexually assaulted and left with severe brain damage by a ward attendant of the same hospital in November 1973,  died at 08:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015 – a whopping more than four decades after the shocking, brutal incident.

Aruna Shanbaug was 25 years old nurse at the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai when the ward attendant, named Sohanlal Bhartha Valmiki, caught hold of her in an isolated area of the hospital, sodomized her, raped her and then tried to kill her by strangulating her with a dog's chain. While Sohanlal failed to kill her, the strangulation cut the oxygen supply to her brain.

She survived for another 42 years, till last Monday, but her survival was crueler than death. She spent the rest of her life in a persistent vegetative state in hospital; she was forcibly fed twice a day. She was in unbearable misery, but the Indian Supreme Court (SC) rejected a plea to allow her to die because Indian constitution doesn’t allow euthanasia.

Common Man

I am a common man, but not a member of Aam Aadmi Party (APP – a comparatively new political party in India that claims to the true representative of common man). You can call me independent common man as even the members of APP now belongs to a political group. Like any common man, I an honest & hard working and wants to enjoy a life of peace, prosperity and happiness; but seldom ready to take initiatives and risks. But, you can not blame me for this kind of nature because a common man is always busy in earning his livelihood.

It is a matter of fact that the society’s ongoing deterioration and ever growing problems are because of indifference of common man like me. I want to fight, but can’t because I have not time (plus courage) for that. A common man is always aware that he can’t take care of various aspects of society, which is why he elects his representatives at local, state and federal levels. Those who come forward to represent their communities definitely have more courage, time as well as resources.

A common man elects a representative for him thinking that he/she would take care of his issues. But, representatives don’t hesitate in duping the same man who elects them to power and hands his as well as his society’s destiny over to them. When a common man is robbed of his hard earned money, reputation or peace through fraudulent policies/actions by cunning representatives, then it is a big shame for those who call them leaders and patriots.

Still, the common man is definitely responsible for not keeping a vigil eye on those whom he hands over the future/destiny of himself as well as the society.
